Description
Burnt Zombie is a special type of Zombie that is commonly encountered in the Burnt Forest biome and also rarely during Blood Moon Hordes. These zombies were affected heavily by the biome (or Point of Interest) around them, as Burnt Zombies resemble burning, charred wood. They typically stray around the roads or abandoned shacks you may find in the Burnt Forest and blend in with their surroundings, so keep alert for movement when travelling through their territory.
When they are nearby they will emit hoarse moans and a constant 'crackling' akin to lit torches or campfires. Because of this, a player will likely hear them coming long before they enter field of view.

Combat
Their behavior in combat is no different than other "normal" zombies. If the player strays too close and alerts them of your presence, they will path towards the player at the speed they were set to.
Notes
- Before the Burnt Zombie was introduced, the zombies that populated the Burnt Forest were the Feral Walker.
- The Burnt Zombie does take fire damage.
- The Burnt Zombie will not be extinguished when going into water.
- The Feral variant of a Burnt Zombie will have its body on fire, and there is also a Irradiated variant of the Burnt Zombie but its extremely rare to see one on a Horde Night with a really high Game Stage, additionally you could go to Army Camp 2 (with a high enough Game Stage to see irradiated zombies) and look at the right side of the Army Camp where there is a lot of corpse bags and at the center of the area you should see 4 Burnt Zombies with one of them being irradiated.
- Feral, Radiated, Charged, and Infernal Burnt Zombies have a 25% chance to cause Burning for 10 seconds.
- In the Xbox Version of 7 Days To Die you can skin a dead Burnt Zombie's corpse, it will make the same animation as skinning an animal and while skinning you have a chance to get 1 piece of Charred Meat despite the corpse being a zombie with mostly getting Rotten Meat out of the corpse.
Trivia
- When dead Zombies were lootable in Alpha 13, Burnt Zombie was named "Burn Victim".
