Hey there and thanks for contributing :) I was wondering where you get those high res images. The images i exported from the game are way lower quality. - Eichi87 (talk) 20:53, 20 April 2014 (UTC)

You can export them all at once:
  1. Get Grim's Unity Asset Editor: http://7daystodie.com/forums/showthread.php?5030-Grim-s-Unity-Asset-Editor
  2. Get KM's 7DTD Recipe Editor: http://7daystodie.com/forums/showthread.php?7198-KMs-Recipe-Editor
  3. Follow this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jgeHUJ2csjY
  4. After importing the index files, you find all images as PNGs in the icons folder below the Recipe Editor's folder.
It makes sense to keep the original file names, because it makes tracking changes/deletions easier later. Also, User:Game_widow apparently can bulk import them using MsUpload, but I haven't quite figured out if/how I can do that, too. -- Djkrose (talk) 01:03, 21 April 2014 (UTC)
p.s.: I have created a Help:Export Icons page for this. -- Djkrose (talk) 01:44, 21 April 2014 (UTC)
Ok thanks I'll try it. I exported a .dds file and splitted it. I hink that's why the quality was much lower.
For the names I think you're right. The users uploaded images using the names they wanted but it's better to keep the original names. I think MsUpload is only for curse members but I dikd'nt try though. And thanks for the page/help :) - Eichi87 (talk) 11:19, 21 April 2014 (UTC)
Oh i see you allready used msupload ^^ so that's for everyone I think :) - Eichi87 (talk) 11:21, 21 April 2014 (UTC)
I tried it and this way is extremely sexy ^^ Thanks :) - Eichi87 (talk) 11:34, 21 April 2014 (UTC)
Yeah, think so, too. Once I figured this MsUpload out, it was quickly done. - It looks like my file redirects don't work though. Apparently a redirect only works if the file does not have an uploaded version already... or so, not sure... -- Djkrose (talk) 11:53, 21 April 2014 (UTC)
I think so too. Only if there is no image uploaded the system will use the redirect. I deleted all the pages you marked except for the artices. I think mags wil come back so they stay and the rest... no need for deletion :) but all the images are gone. - Eichi87 (talk) 13:30, 21 April 2014 (UTC)
Ok, but if you keep old articles you kinda need the old images for these articles, too, right? I'd prefer having the wiki represent the latest game state and put removed game assets into deletion history (it's not lost after all), because it's hard to draw the line. Are we keeping Scrap Metal, are we keeping rock06, are we keeping tree_branch_green_with_a_bit_of_snow_and_dirt_25? At least they should have clear marking and references from other in-game items/recipes should be removed. Just my 2 cents... ;) -- Djkrose (talk) 05:29, 22 April 2014 (UTC)
Hey, Dkrose. I think you should forget redirections and upload the files with new names directly and update the references. At the end you can mark obsolete files as pending deletion. I think this way is cleaner, because it avoids duplicate files. For the rest, I see you are doing a hard work updating the wiki and your image importing information are quite usefull (I think I'll try it myself because I wanted to be able to import images for some time :D). So thank you for contributing ant keep up the good work. --— Magneto555 (talk) 15:11, 21 April 2014 (UTC)
Alright, thanks. Sounds good. I just didn't want to step on other peoples toes who may have put thought into different naming and start major restructuring on my first day in the wiki. But having a consistent naming is clearly the best way. :) -- Djkrose (talk) 05:29, 22 April 2014 (UTC)

Old articles

That's right we need to be carefull what to keep and what to delete but as long as we keep the links up to date there should be no link to scrap metal or plywood. we don't have any webspace issues and so there is no need for deleting them. And maybe they will be put back in the game. At last i think magazines will be back in a future update. - Eichi87 (talk) 12:02, 22 April 2014 (UTC)
