Can we get the link text color changed to maybe a yellow or orange? It's very close to the same color as the background and difficult to read. (sorry if this isn't the appropriate place to suggest this)

No it's allright here :) Thanks we are considering and likely to chnage the color to are dark blue :) - Eichi87 (talk) 08:38, 4 June 2014 (UTC)

French Wiki

Hey, sorry to post here but for some reason gamepedia doesn't want me to edit my own talk page anymore. I have some questions about the translation.
1. How do I translate the main interface link/buttons ?
2. How do I translate the item's infoboxes labels/links ? Do I need to create french templates ? Where do I create them ?
3. Will there be a separate domain like there is on other languages ? (7daystodie-fr.gamepedia.com I suppose)
Thanks in advance 0verGamer (talk) 00:30, 7 December 2014 (UTC)

Hi 0verGamer, last I checked on your talk page, Game widow mentioned he had this in the pipeline. For that reason I believe that the editing of the French wiki must be put on hold as once he has managed to finish what he has "in the pipeline" then the french wiki will almost certainly have it's own wiki, which I imagine will be http://7daystodie.gamepedia.fr or something similar. It is more just a waiting game, I'd advise you to pop a message on his talk page and watch it for a reply. Thunder Sniper (talk) 10:25, 7 December 2014 (UTC)
Hi Thunder Sniper, alright then. Yet I started the translation because I figured that the pages I create could be moved later to the french wiki when it's up. There's a lot of work and I'm having a hard time finding other motivated frenchies, though the french community's pretty substantial I find; so the sooner I start the better. I'll put it on hold though if that's what you think is best. 0verGamer (talk) 12:32, 7 December 2014 (UTC)
I think getting started has it's good and bad points. If you keep a nice list on which pages you have translated then it'll certainly be useful when switching over, we just don't need a huge stockpile of French pages on the English wiki once that has happened. Nevertheless, I am confident they'll be easy to track down. Because of this I personally think you should keep going but just ask Game widow how thing are progressing with implementing the French Wiki. Thunder Sniper (talk) 18:34, 7 December 2014 (UTC)
On the other hand, it does increase the number of pages we need to patrol an awful lot, which makes this a difficult task when they will soon be moved over. So instead I advise you this tactic: When editing a page on the wiki to translate it into French, finish the translation and use the preview view to check everything works fine. Then copy and paste EVERYTHING from the Wikitext tab, which is where you edit, and save it in a Notepad .txt file for uploading later to the French wiki, once it is functional. This saves the admins from having to patrol all the French translations and still allows you to stockpile pages for when it is indeed ready to go! Thunder Sniper (talk) 18:40, 7 December 2014 (UTC)
I'm definitely fast-tracking the French wiki and i will move all the already translated pages over. As for the infoboxes, i'll help get those translated to french so don't worry over much, just leave me a list of any preferred names for the field labels. — Game widow (talk) 20:25, 7 December 2014 (UTC)
I uploaded a raw "en = fr" txt file for infoboxes and UI here: http://txt.do/oi5a

Fantastic! thanks :) ... the other important template to address is: {{Icon to item}}, this governs the icons used in all the grid templates. Here is a copy to work on for the french wiki: {{tl|Icon to item/fr}}. The values to the left of the "=" sign should remain as they are, to the right of the "=" sign should be the french names for the items — Game widow (talk) 15:00, 8 December 2014 (UTC)
Since I made the game's translation I had it all done already, so here it is. I just had to uppercase the first letter, which is in lower case in the game's files, and add vertical bars, 1mn with notepad++ :P The only thing is, some rare items seem different here than in the game's files, just saw 1 for now: 44MagnumBullet was 44MagBullet in game's file. Maybe some other items like that exist, I'll check it out.

It also seems there is a little bit more lines here than in the initial file since ALL the ingame blocks and items are listed. While I'm here does anyone know why my name is displayed in red on my signature like my page doesn't exist, while it does ? 0verGamer (talk) 17:55, 8 December 2014 (UTC)

Your name appears in red because there are actually 2 versions of the user page and we currently don't have a fix for dealing with both of them smoothly. When you go to your profile page, you'll see a tab at the top for "User wiki", click on that and input something like: I'm the administrator of the French 7 Days to Die wiki (or whatever you'd like), thereafter, your name won't display in red. Also, the French wiki is up and running, though i am still transferring templates, so don't worry if some things still seem a bit broken right now, they'll be fixed shortly. — Game widow (talk)
Alright, awesome. I'll get to it. Also for my page I treid what you said several times on different days and I always get a Curse server error "An error has occured while between our cloud network and the web server" etc. Same thing for my talk page since recently. Never mind 0verGamer (talk) 19:16, 8 December 2014 (UTC)
I added some placeholder text for you on that page — Game widow (talk) 22:09, 8 December 2014 (UTC)
I see you tried a few times to create my page, yet it seems it won't work... The I don't get is that the page you asked me to create is "...UserWiki:0verGamer", when the link that's supposed to be on my signature is "...User:0verGamer"... Anyway don't bother it doesn't really matter much 0verGamer (talk) 22:33, 8 December 2014 (UTC)
The issue is that the user "profile" page is a hack, therefore we still have some problems with the profile vs user pages. However, this particular problem is not due to that, there is something else (still unidentified, but being investigated) that is causing your user page in particular to be uneditable. Rest assured, we are investigating the issue and will resolve it as quickly as we can. — Game widow (talk) 22:38, 8 December 2014 (UTC)
