Description
The Dire Wolf is a wild animal found rarely in any Biome at night or in any City. They are more common in the Snow at night and in the Wasteland at all times of day. They can also rarely appear in Wolf hordes.
Dire Wolves are hostile and will try to chase and attack the player if provoked or if they spot the player. Dire Wolves are much faster than players and will easily outrun a player and catch them, so it is advised to take them down as fast as you can before they can reach you, or get to the high ground like a car as they cannot climb it. A Dire Wolf's attack can also cause bleeding.
It is recommended to use a Bone Knife, Hunting Knife, or Machete when harvesting because it will provide the player with more resources than any other tool or weapon.

History
- The Dire Wolf once appeared identical to a regular Wolf but larger with glowing orange eyes, similar to a Feral Zombie. Before that, they where much darker in appearance.
- The Dire Wolf used to be the same size as a Wolf and gave Raw Meat when harvested. Its model was remade to be larger and more zombie-like, turning it into the Wolf equivalent of the Zombie Bear.
Trivia
- In real life, the term "Dire Wolf" refers to a species of canine mammal that went extinct in the Late Pleistocene extinctions, a worldwide event that saw the extinction of most of the Earth's then-existing megafauna, including the well-known Saber-Toothed Cat and Mammoths, plus the eradication of animals in certain parts of the world, such as hippopotamuses in what was later known as Europe.
