I disagree. Coal Ore is a thing. It is a mine able resource. Lump of Coal is a thing that you can carry around, they are completely different. Also nothing should be deleted. It should be marked as removed as per the guidelines of the wiki.

Noted on the delete thing. However, coal is, by definition, not an ore. Being mined resource does not constitute being an ore. You can cut scraps of steel from a car with a pick axe, but that doesn't make it "Car Ore". (Though it does increase your skill with mining tools.) Lumps of clay aren't "Clay Ore". Crushed sand isn't "Sand Ore". I'm not being intentionally facetious, but the qualifying question should not be "can it be mined". By the by, lead... also not an ore. Maybe it's nit-picking. I've been accused of it. Coal deposit? Sure. Coal ore? Not as much. --Bacchatus (talk) 17:28, 22 January 2017 (UTC)
To be even more facetious (from google):
Ore
a naturally occurring solid material from which a metal or valuable mineral can be extracted profitably.
"a good deposit of lead-bearing ores"
But either way, the game has two things for all these items, what occurs in the ground that is mine-able, and the item that you get out of the ground and carry around. I see them as two different but related things. So I would say there are recipes that use lump of Coal, or a lump of Lead, but not the "Coal Ore" or "Lead Ore", except that you could say that a lump of Coal has a Recipe that is the "Coal Ore".
It could be the wrong name, Coal Ore, and should be raw Coal, or something else?

The wikipedia page of coal says its called "coal beds" or "coal seams". On the other hand, Minecraft (in building very similar to 7 Days to Die) also calls it "Coal Ore". If I remember correctly, "Coal Ore" was also used in one of the earlier alpha versions of 7 Days to Die.
In my opinion we should keep it as "Coal Ore", which should refer to the deposits above the ground and underground, just like Iron Ore/Lead Ore/Gold Ore etc.

Just found the icon for "Coal Ore" in the icon files, called coalOre.png. The developers also call it "Coal Ore", so I guess that should be leading.
