Armor
Description
Armor is an Item Group consisting of wearable items that can be equipped using the gear slots in the Character Window. All Armor items provide some form of defense while being worn. Additionally, each Armor item is associated with an armor set. Except for the primitive set, each armor set comes with a set bonus when a character is wearing all four pieces of one set.
There are 4 categories of Armor: Primitive Armor, Light Armor, Medium Armor and Heavy Armor.
Gear Slots
Character appearance is shown in the left side of the Character Window, with gear slots on the bottom beneath the character. Gear slots are used to equip the character with armor. There are four gear slots:
- Headgear (Head)
- Chest Armor (Body)
- Gloves (Hands)
- Footwear (Feet)
Armor properties
Basic properties
Armor has multiple properties that affect the character's protection, movement, and visibility:
- Armor rating : Amount added to a character's Armor Rating.
- Explosion resistance : Amount added to a character's Explosion Resistance.
- Armor crit resist : Amount added to a character's Armor Crit Resist.
- Cold Resist : Amount added to a character's Cold Resist stat.
- Heat Resist : Amount added to a character's Heat Resist stat.
- Mobility : Amount by which a character's Mobility is reduced.
- Stamina regen : Amount by which a character's Stamina Regen is increased or decreased.
- Noise : Affects the general stealth of a character by increasing the stealth meter when moving compared to wearing no armor.
- Durability : Determines how long the Armor protects before breaking and needing to be repaired. Damage reduced by the Armor is divided by the amount of armor pieces worn at the moment and then deducted from the current durability of all pieces.
Buff properties
As of Version 1.0, each armor item (other than those of the primitive set) provides a buff when worn that is specific to that item.
Level properties
Armors, like Weapons and Tools, come in 6 quality levels that increase their stats and associated buffs.
Set Bonus properties
Each Armor item is associated with an armor set. Except for the primitive set, each armor set comes with a set bonus when a character is wearing all four pieces of one set, with the lowest quality item governing the strength of that bonus.
