Description

Iron Spikes are traps used to defend structures by impaling zombies and/or players. Iron Spikes are crafted using 4 Forged Iron. They begin to lose durability after being stepped on by players or zombies and are eventually destroyed. They are often used to surround the parameter of a base or location. Iron Spikes will also slightly slow down zombies as they path through the Iron Spikes trap. Iron Spikes can be crafted or upgraded from Wood Spikes.

Failure

The Iron Spikes has 3 stages. First being newly crafted and two more in a depreciated state. The 3rd stage of the Iron Spikes still can be repaired. Once the 3rd stage damage limit has been reached it will be destroyed disappearing. Stages are as shown.

Repair

The Iron Spikes can be repaired so long as it is standing no matter what state. Repairing will require Forged Iron to restore it to full hit point.

Notes

  • They are an excellent defense for mid game and can be implemented into late game strategies as well.
  • They are really helpful when dealing with running zombies, as the spikes slow them down and can dismember them.
  • Be careful when placing them, as you will sometimes place them below yourself and damage yourself.
  • If you are staying in a house, a good strategy is to surround it by 3 layers of spikes.
