Overview

Sand shares its texture and resource characteristics with the Desert Ground Block, but is structurally weaker not allowing any overhang (Desert Ground allows 1).

Digging up Sand gives 9 of both Clay Soil & Crushed Sand, increased by investing in the Mother Lode perk.

Sand can be repaired using up to 7 of both Clay Soil & Crushed Sand.

Uses

Sand provides a good source of Crushed Sand when the Cement Mixer is not yet available to craft it yourself.
The Sand block cannot be crafted, but it can be replaced using a Top Soil block which will take the colour of Sand but will yield only Clay Soil when dug up.
