Overview

The Robotic Drone is a deployable item that serves as a helpful companion to the player. It can assist in combat, carry extra items, and even provide healing support. This versatile tool enhances the player's survivability and efficiency in the post-apocalyptic world.

Deployment

To deploy the Robotic Drone, place it in your Toolbelt, then use right-click to begin the placement process. A placement silhouette for the drone will appear: red for invalid placement and green for valid placement. Right-click again to place it into the world. The drone will follow you and provide support based on the installed mods.

Interacting

Robotic Drone Menu

Facing a Robotic Drone will display "Press (E) to talk to Robotic Drone". Press E to access the Talk option. Press and hold E to access the drone's full radial menu options:

  • Ui game symbol talk.png Talk - Using this option will bring up the drone dialog options:
    • May I see your inventory?
    • Stay Here. / Follow me.
    • Nevermind.
  • Ui game symbol lock.pngUi game symbol unlock.png Lock/Unlock - Sets/removes the locked status. An unlocked drone can be opened by any player. A locked drone can only be opened by players who have previously entered the current access code. If locked and no access code has been set, only its owner is able to access and unlock it.
  • Ui game symbol keypad.png Enter Code: Allows the owner of the Robotic Drone to set/change the access code.
  • Ui game symbol hand.png Take - This option will place the Robotic Drone into your player Inventory.
  • Ui game symbol run and gun.pngUi game symbol run.png Stay Here / Follow Me - This option will force the Robotic Drone to stay in place until it is told to follow your character once again.
  • Ui game symbol loot sack.png Storage - This option will show the default storage which is limited to 16 slots but can be expanded with the Robotic Drone Cargo Mod.
  • Ui game symbol stealth.png Quiet Mode - This option will make the Robotic Drone silent (not speaking) giving the player some peace and quiet. The Robotic Drone will act as usual with assisting the player with aid but will not give any verbal warnings until it is turned on again.
  • Ui game symbol lightbulb.png Flashlight - This option only appears when the Robotic Headlamp Mod is installed. Using this option allows for extra lighting from the Drone.

A higher Quality item may provide better stats at the cost of increased material and unlock requirements.

To install Mods into the Robotic Drone, the drone must be in your Inventory or Toolbelt. Click on the Drone in your inventory and click on Modify and drag and drop the Mod into the Modifiers slots available. If the Drone is already deployed in the air, press and hold the E key and select TAKE and proceed as stated above.
