Overview

A Hunting Rifle is a medium to long range bolt action firearm which can be found throughout the world in 7 Days to Die. It is an uncommon weapon but it's craftable. This weapon requires the 7.62mm Bullet and only holds one cartridge at a time. It will reload automatically if the player is carrying the correct Ammunition or it can be done manually at any time using the reload key (default key R ).

Headshotting adds 50 extra damage in A21.

Combat

During combat, a Hunting Rifle is a very powerful long range weapon. At short range, however, the player may have trouble because it must be reloaded for each shot and therefore has a slow rate of fire. A Hunting Rifle will kill most Zombies with one head shot. Due to its slow firing rate and small magazine the Hunting Rifle should be used conservatively and with care in the hands of beginning players.
