Description

The Wooden Bow is the second craftable bow in 7 Days to Die. It is a medium-range weapon that fires arrows as ammunition. Wooden Bow can be used with five different types of arrows: Stone Arrow, Iron Arrow, Steel Arrow, Flaming Arrow, and Exploding Arrow. To equip a different type of ammo than the default stone arrows, press and hold R, then select the ammo type you want. The damages given are based on values of the different types of arrows that the bow can use. The bow itself (without arrows) can not cause any damage.

Sneaking attack increases 100% extra damage in A21.

Combat

During combat, a Wooden Bow is a powerful medium to long range weapon. At short range, however, the player may have trouble due to the time it takes to knock an additional arrow. Due to its slow firing rate, a bow should be used with care at short range against more than one enemy or wild animal. Bows are great for stealth attacks, as firing an arrow doesn't make a sound and won't alert nearby zombies. Hitting a zombie without killing him, does alert the zombie.

Aiming the bow takes skill. The player must take into account the time of flight of an arrow and the effect of gravity upon it. Arrows, unlike bullets, do not travel in a straight line, and have limited range. Aiming slightly above the head, depending on range, usually guarantees a hit.

Arrows (like bolts) have a chance to apply a Arrow Critical Bleedout debuff, which drains 1 health per second for 50s.
