Overview

The Iron Crossbow is a weapon in 7 Days to Die that makes use of the Archery skill. It can be crafted once its recipe is unlocked by reading at least 22 of the Bow Hunters magazines.

The Iron Crossbow is a medium- to long-range weapon that fires crossbow bolts as Ammunition. It will reload automatically after each shot and, unlike the bows, it can be modded with Scope or Weapon Flashlight.

To equip a different type of ammo than the default Stone Crossbow Bolt, press and hold R, then select the ammo type you want.

Combat

During combat, Crossbows are powerful medium- to long-range weapons that can kill most Zombies with one headshot.

Due to their slow firing rate and required reloading for each shot, a Crossbow should be used with care when fighting at short range, fighting against more than one enemy, or fighting wild animals.
